According to reports from ESPN, Everton and West Ham are both interested in signing Manchester City youngster Kelechi Iheanacho.
The Nigeria striker is clearly an exciting talent, with twelve Premier League goals under his belt at just 20 years of age, and the Toffees and the Hammers will both be keen to add to their firepower this summer.
Whilst a dependence on Andy Carroll has cost the Irons once again this term, Everton face the prospect of losing their star front-man Romelu Lukaku, who has been heavily linked with former employers Chelsea.
City are reportedly prepared to consider offers in excess of £20million for Iheanacho, who has barely featured since Gabriel Jesus’ arrival in January, and such a sum should be well within Everton’s budget this summer.
With that in mind, we asked Everton fans last week whether Iheanacho is the man to fill Lukaku’s void and the vast majority seemingly think he is, with a staggering 91% of those who took part in our poll voting in favour of a summer swoop.
Is Iheanacho the perfect Lukaku replacement or should Ronald Koeman’s side target someone else? Let us know by commenting below…
