The South Beach club are in contention to be a host representative, and Miami's Hard Rock Stadium could potentially feature the opening match of the tournament.

FIFA recently confirmed the 12 venues that will host matches throughout the competition, with the final set to be played at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
In total, 32 teams will participate in the tournament with Clubs from AFC, CAF, Concacaf, CONMEBOL, OFC and UEFA set to partake. The tournament itself will take place from June 15 to July 13 in 2025.

The other MLS team who have confirmed participation for the tournament are the Seattle Sounders, who qualified via their 2022 CONCACAF Champions Cup title. Other entrants include Pachuca, Club Leon and CF Monterrey.

The report notes that the Herons inclusion in the tournament could be announced as soon as this month.
The Herons have two matches left in the regular season, before the 2024 campaign comes to a close and the playoffs begin.
