After a mediocre start to his West Ham career in which he failed to score in the opening six games, Felipe Anderson has truly taken off now, and in some style. Before this weekend, the Brazilian has netted four and assisted another in six appearances for the Hammers, including a brace last Thursday to sink Southampton.
Hammers fans finally have a top star to cheer for the first time since Dimitri Payet as the former Lazio man establishes himself as one of the best players outside the top six – Payet achieved a similar status during his time with the east London club, before seemingly turning tailcoat and returning to his native France.
The 31-year-old now plies his trade with Marseille – the club he was signed from by Slaven Bilic in 2015 – and is still operating to the high standard he set for himself in his two and a half seasons in the Premier League.
There is no debating that both are two of the best creators and goal-scorers that the London Stadium have had in recent memory, but which ranks higher for you, West Ham fans?
We think Anderson is capable of making Hammers’ fans forget all about the French international, and you can have your say by voting in the poll below…
