Tottenham’s Harry Kane has issued a warning to Mohamed Salah, as the striker looks to become just the third player to win three consecutive Premier League Golden Boots.
When Harry Kane injured his ankle against Bournemouth, the 24 year-old was level on Premier League goals with Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah at 24.
Since Kane’s injury, the Egyptian winger has sped off into the distance, grabbing an incredible four-goal haul against Watford before finding the winner this weekend against Crystal Palace, putting him five ahead of the Spurs striker.
Salah has been incredible for Jürgen Klopp and Liverpool, but Kane insists he is focused on grabbing his own goals.

“Salah’s done fantastic, he’s a great great player. Yeah, it’s competition. I had the same last year,” Kane said.
“For me, I’ve got to focus on my own game and my own team, and we’ll see what happens come the end of the season.”
Kane faced a similar battle for last year’s Golden Boot with Romelu Lukaku, scoring a ridiculous seven goals in his final two games to beat the Belgian, and it sounds like he’s up for a battle with Salah as well.
“He’s obviously got a bit of a head start now, and we’ll see what happens. I can’t control what he does, so I’ve just got to make sure I prepare well for games and just be ready.”
The only other players to win the Golden Boot three times in a row are Alan Shearer and Thierry Henry, not exactly bad company to keep.
