Bayern Munich are mulling over a move for Bayer Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso as they consider him as a possible replacement for Thomas Tuchel.

With Bayern Munich currently trailing league leaders Bayer Leverkusen by eight points, officials at the Allianz Arena might consider parting ways with the German manager.
reports that if the reigning Bundesliga champions decided to show the door to Tuchel, they would consider making a move for Alonso.

Alonso has performed exceptionally since taking charge of Die Werkself in October 2022. From initially struggling in the relegation zone, the Bundesliga side eventually finished sixth at the end of the 2022-23 season. In the ongoing campaign, the Spaniard has managed to keep his team unbeaten in the German top flight and is on course to lead them to a historic league title.

The former Liverpool, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich star is also wanted by the Reds who view him as a potential replacement for outgoing Jurgen Klopp. Chelsea are also reportedly planning to bring in the 42-year-old if they sack Mauricio Pochettino.
