Antony, who has endured a difficult season with the Red Devils this season, hit out at former United players, saying that they offer no "constructive criticism" and accused them of being "unfair and malicious" towards him.

The £85 million signing has not scored or provided an assist in any competition for United this season, despite featuring 14 times for Erik ten Hag's team. He has been targeted by several media figures as a result of his displays, including ex-striker Dimitar Berbatov and former right-back Gary Neville.

Scholes has given the former Ajax star a few words of advice as he responded to Antony's take, writing on his Instagram Story: "Run as fast as you can up and down, score goals, and make goals pls. Good luck tonight my friend."
