West Ham duo finally complete transfers to Lyon and Betis Moves got halted due to technical problem West Ham next face Man Utd in Premier League WHAT HAPPENED?
Benrahma had travelled to Lyon to complete his move on Thursday after West Ham and Lyon agreed on a loan deal for the player with an option to buy. But the deal almost fell off at the 11th hour, as the French club accused the Hammers of failing to complete the necessary admin on their side. On Friday, Lyon formally announced that they have completed the transfer for a fee of £5 million (€6m) with an option to buy for £12m (€14m) next summer.
A similar technical glitch had halted Pablo Fornals' move to Real Betis on the deadline day but the Spanish club later confirmed the player's arrival on a five-and-a-half-year deal.

After the Algerian attacker's move was halted, Les Gones had even considered approaching FIFA to force their move for the 28-year-old. Fornals' transfer, on the other hand, was more or less sealed on the deadline day itself as his name was already registered on La Liga's website.

While the Hammers let go of two players in the recently concluded January transfer window, they brought in England international midfielder Kalvin Phillips on loan from Manchester City.
