Wrexham booked their place in the next round of the EFL Trophy with a comfortable 3-0 win against Wolves Under-21s on Tuesday.

Lewis Brunt, Paul Mullin and Mo Faal all scored as the Welsh side made it two wins from their first two matches to go top of their group.
Wrexham did not take long to get on top of their visitors but Phil Parkinson's men created few big chances. Still, it seemed only a matter of time before the hosts got a breakthrough and it came in the 22nd minute when Anthony Forde's fantastic cross from a free kick was met by Brunt for a simple finish from close range.
The Red Dragons grew in confidence from there and looked a bit more sharp as they cut through Wolves to get the ball in dangerous areas, but the final touch was missing until Forde's perfect lob from inside his half sent Mullin in behind the defence and he lifted it over the goalkeeper to make it 2-0 after 38 minutes.
Summer signing Faal got his second Wrexham goal in spectacular style when a mix-up in the Wolves defence saw it come down to the 21-year-old in front of goal and his overhead kick gave the Welsh side a three-goal cushion.
Despite their comfortable lead, Wrexham seemed to up the intensity later in the second half and kept plugging away at Wolves. In the end, they had nine attempts on target against the younger side and could have won by a much bigger margin.

Wrexham right-back Forde's deliveries were deadly throughout the game. He managed two assists but created more problems for the Wolves back line with his perfectly-weighted crosses and passes into dangerous areas.
THE BIG LOSER
Wolves full-back Caden Voice would have preferred a much quieter game against the League One team. The 18-year-old struggled to deal with the threat of the home team's attacks and was rightly taken off just after the hour mark.
WHAT COMES NEXT?
Wrexham are in action again on October 19 with a League One game against Rotherham. Their next appearance in the EFL Trophy will be against Port Vale on November 12.
